it ?s a ballpark classic to mix soft pretzels with hot mustard, and that it ?s a favorite of chow editor in chief jane goldman to mix arduous pretzels with jarlsberg. here we teamed up all those flavors and toasted the results for a winner of a snack.

level of issue : simple.

ingredients :


 one ( 3-ounce ) soft pretzel roll ( or substitute 1/2 dutch crunch roll )
 one teaspoon unsalted butter, softened
 a pair of teaspoons sweet hot mustard
 1/3 cup shredded jarlsberg cheese

directions :


 heat an outsized frying pan over medium-low heat. whereas the pan is heating, cut pretzel roll in half lengthwise and press down on every half to flatten. spread butter on outer facet of every half and mustard on within.
 once the pan is warm, add one roll half buttered facet down, high with cheese, and shut sandwich with remaining roll half buttered facet up.
 cook till bread is toasted and cheese is melted, regarding five minutes per facet.
